Featuring a vintage GRANITEWARE DOUBLE BOILER.  The large 5-cup capacity double boiler is enameled in a beige enamel with black handles. The rims of the pots are also trimmed in black.

The bottom pot measures about 5 ¼” tall and about 6" across at mouth. Including the long handle, its about 13” wide. The smaller pot holds about 5 cups of liquid and measures approximately 5" tall by 6" at the mouth and is a little under 13” wide with its handle.

The double boiler is in good vintage condition but does have chips on the bottom of both pans. The bottom pot also has staining and a chip inside. The is a small spot also on the lid. For display the chips are barely noticeable and for cooking, the pots can be used as the interior of the small pot is great condition.  Please review the photos carefully as they have been taken from several angles.

Imagine this wonderful piece as an addition to someone's French country or farmhouse style decorating!

Enamel & Granite Ware

Enamelware is made from an old process of coating metal with porcelain, which  became popular in the 1800s.  By the late 1870s, a new form of enamel ware was developed, called "granite ware."

Graniteware was designed with decorative patterns resembling granite, ranging from mottled, speckled, spatters or swirls. Early granite ware was turquoise blue with white or green. Both enamel and granite ware were used in the production of early kitchen utility ware.
